When Should I Call for Furnace Repair Service?

There is never a good time to have to call Germantown heating repair service. However, there are some times when it is more necessary than others. If your heating system is in bad shape, you may wish to contact us sooner rather than later, as waiting can make the problem worse and cost you more money in the long run. Below are five signs that heating repair may be needed:

1. Strange noises

If you hear a clanging sound coming from your heating system, this could indicate a loose heat exchanger or other serious defect that needs immediate heating repair service. You should also look out for grinding sounds or knocking noises which could be an indication that the motor bearings need replacing soon or they will break entirely and heating repair will be required.

2. Pilot light flame is yellow

A yellow pilot light flame means that your heating system is not burning fuel cleanly and needs to be serviced. This can cause carbon monoxide poisoning, so it is important to fix the problem as soon as possible.

3. Rise in utility bills

If you have been noticing a sudden uptick in your heating bills, this could be a sign that there is something wrong with your heating system. Often times, this means that the furnace is working harder than it should be and heating repair service may be necessary to fix the issue.

4. Poor air circulation

One common sign that there is something wrong with your heating system is poor air circulation throughout your home. You may feel cold air coming from heating vents or feel hot air being pushed out by heating units. Poor heating circulation means that heating repair service is needed to fix the issues.

5. Short-cycling

If your heating system keeps shutting off before it should, this may mean that your heating unit needs heating repair service to fix it long term or you may need a new heating unit all together.

There are many signs that indicate when furnace repair service is necessary for an individual's heating system. If none of these problems sound familiar to you, but your heat seems to be working harder than it should be, make sure to contact ARS/Rescue Rooter as soon as possible, so we can diagnose the problem early on and save you money in the long run.

Signs You Should Consider Replacing Your Existing Furnace

There are several signs that Germantown homeowners should look for when deciding whether or not to replace their furnace. The four most common ones are the age of your system, frequent repairs, rising energy bills, and humidity problems.

If your furnace is more than 10 years old, it may be time to consider a replacement. Newer furnaces are more energy-efficient and can save you money on your heating bills. Frequent repairs can also be an indication that it's time for a new system. If your furnace requires frequent repairs, the cost of fixing it may be more than the cost of replacing it. You may also want to consider replacing your furnace if your energy bills have been rising steadily over the past few years. And finally, if you're experiencing humidity problems in your home and don't know why, your furnace may be too old to handle it.

If you answer "yes" to any of these questions, it might be time for a heating system replacement. Contact us at ARS/Rescue Rooter if you'd like help figuring out whether or not you should replace your furnace. We'll visit your home and help get everything ready for the installation of a new heating system that will meet all of your needs and provide years of comfort for you and your family.

Service
I recently had two complete Carrier Infinity dual-fuel HVAC systems installed by ARS/Rescue Rooter and I could not be more pleased with the entire experience from start to finish. The process began with Joshua Wilson, who took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for. After extensive personal research comparing multiple brands, contractors, and system configurations, Joshua presented the Carrier Infinity 23 Greenspeed heat pump (27VNA3) paired with the Infinity 98 gas furnace (59MN7) in a dual-fuel configuration — exactly the premium system I was after. He also recommended a comprehensive indoor air quality package including an Air Scrubber by Aerus with ActivePure technology and an Aprilaire 700 whole-house humidifier. His knowledge of the equipment and attention to my specific needs made the decision easy. The 2nd system is the Carrier Infinity 27VNA0 and Air Handler. His manager, Scott, was equally impressive — professional, responsive, and clearly committed to making sure everything was handled right. Together they made the quoting and scheduling process smooth and stress-free. What really set this experience apart was the installation itself. The turnaround time to get both complete systems installed was remarkably quick, and the quality of workmanship was outstanding. The install crew operated under the direct supervision of Natan and his fellow supervisor, both of whom were present on the job site throughout the entire project. Their leadership was evident in every aspect — the crew was organized, professional, and thorough. They took care to protect my home, communicated clearly about what they were doing at each stage, and left everything clean when they were finished. From the initial consultation with Joshua and Scott, through the fast scheduling, to the expert installation led by Natan and his team — this was a first-class experience from a crew that clearly takes pride in their work. I highly recommend ARS/Rescue Rooter for anyone considering a premium HVAC system. These folks know what they're doing and they stand behind it.

Had my spring HVAC (AC) check this morning with ARS. ARS is and has been my go to HVAC for nearly 20 years. Omar arrived on time and did a great job. He went over some maintenance issues that needed to be addressed and things I should watch for. Several services were recommended to keep my systems working in perk order. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the suggested maintenance was a bit expensive. There was no pressure on getting the work done, I was just given a quote to look over. I appreciate the 'no pressure' approach. After some research, if the price is right I won't hesitate to have ARS complete the work!
